hmm one of the episodes of modern family a while back ended with a note that made me very curious. it went something like, the key to being a good father, is being there for your children; nothing more. but is this the case if your dad is a crazy violent ass with a drinking problem? seriously, if your dad is like that, then is it better for him to be with you or without you when you are little? if he is with you, you'd prolly have a messed up childhood by having such a crappy dad. if he leaves or something, then you'd still have a crappy childhood - a fatherless one - and the psychological damage would still be considerable. im really pretty stumped on this one... if YOUR dad was like this, which would YOU prefer? him staying or him leaving you?
