And I couldn't ask for anything better

I was listening to Taylor Swift today because of the rare lack of homework due next week, but there was something that really annoyed and bothered me about Love Story.

The line goes: I talked to your dad / go pick out a white dress

For those who don’t know the song, Romeo and Juliet have this massive problem where Juliet’s dad doesn’t let her see Romeo cos he doesn’t like him or something. So they sneak around meeting eachother and want to get married but obviously they can’t.

And then Romeo just talks to Juliet’s dad and everything gets better? That’s total BULLSHIT. I think TS just couldn’t be bothered to resolve R&J’s problems and wanted to end the song quickly. That’s not a love story at all. It doesn’t even deserve to be called a story. More like ‘Boring Love Anecdote (and watch out for the anticlimax at the end).’

And the funny thing is, I’ve literally listened to this song hundreds of times and never realised this until today. I used to think that love story was sweet and everything, but now its turned into plain old crap and should be put in the ‘crap pile’ along with fireflies.

So now I will officially have a crap pile in which I put all the things I hate in this world into it.

CRAP PILE: Fireflies, Love Story, Neighbours, SAW III, the ending of Fullmetal Alchemist, seal clubbers, chemistry, Rihanna’s nose, Megan Fox’s toe thumb and FROOT LOOPS.
