Thoughts

I see a lone moth on the inside of my window screen. It is fluttering all over the window, dancing in the pale moonlight, searching for the way out, back into the dark night where it belongs. And yet, as I watch over this creature, beating its wings frantically, travelling back and forth, back and forth, over the wire screen, I cannot help but think, Its useless. Youll never get out. Never.

No matter how hard we try, sometimes it seems like we can never achieve that goal. And yet, the moth flutters on, dancing here and there, for the freedom it wants. I shake my head in pity and leave the room.

A minute later, I return to find that the moth is nowhere to be seen. I search all over the window for it, and then laugh at my own ignorance. The trail of the moths silvery dust winds all over the window, sparkling in the black of the night. And at the end of the trail, is a tiny hole in the screen.

There is a lesson to be learnt here. At times, we think that life is too much, that we will never achieve our goals no matter how hard we try. At these times, think of the moth. Soldier on, even if you think that its not worth it anymore, and, eventually, you too will achieve what you want. You too, will find that little hole in the screen, and feel the freedom of success.
